About the Author

With over ten years of experience under his belt, Peter Washington has become a well established artist in the world of fantasy art.  As a small child growing up, in the southern region of the United States, Peter discovered his love for art.  This love was the one thing that kept him grounded and focused, in his childhood.  As an adult this love quickly turned into a passion that became an important part of his life.

After graduating high school, Peter joined the military.  As a young private in boot camp, Peter would often spend most of his off duty time sketching and drawing. Peter was stationed in Germany after graduating boot camp. This fueled his love for fantasy art, even more. It was like adding paper to an open flame everywhere seemed to be designed with great attention to detail. The old world European design inspired Peter, to take his love of fantasy art, into a more CELTIC direction. With everything from the passion and beauty of the women, to the delicious smells and taste of the foods, Peter had fallen in love with Europe and the people.  Peter would spend hours on end, drawing make belief creatures and beast surrounded by woodland trees, or a stone cottage of the old world country side.

After Peter’s time in the military was over, he returned to the states. Peter moved to North Carolina, where he found the same love and inspiration that he found in the Germany. Still keeping the love and passion for celtic and fantasy art deep within his heart, Peter quickly picked up where he left off in the military. Peter would spend many winter nights setting in front of his fire place drawing and painting. For Peter this was the ultimate bliss, because he often did his art work while enjoying a hot chocolate glancing at a winter snow fall. Also in the spring and fall, Peter greatly enjoyed the soft blue and silver colors of the Carolina skies, with the cinnamon smells in the air and beauty of each seasons. While on vacation in Florida, Peter decided to take his art and himself to the next level, to become a career artist. Peter decided that Florida would not only be a great place to play, but also an excellent place to begin his career…

While attending a small art school in Florida, Peter worked as an airbrush artist on weekends. This helped Peter to understand the true purpose of being an artist. This purpose is to visually feed the general public. After Graduating art school, with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia arts and animation Peter moved to California where he worked as a concept artist for movies and television. After years of dealing with the go-go-go lifestyle of California, Peter moved to Arizona in order to rest and relax. The beautiful orange and purple hazed sunsets of Arizona inspired Peter to return to his roots, as an illustrator.  Peter Decided to move back to Florida, where his career began. Soon after returning to Florida Peter Was inspired, by a long time friend and fellow artist (Eric Nyantekyi) to publish a collection of his work.
